Pagdihon is a hiligaynon term which means to hone or to mold. October 24 to 31,2009 will be etched in the minds of every Dingleanon for this was the maiden launching of the colorful festival (the PAGDIHON festival.) It is named "Pagdihon" which means "to hone" because the organizers believe that the Dingleanons particularly by the youth are endowed with God-given talents and abilities which if given the right education and training can be honed and make something useful and productive which can make Dingle progressive. Through this festival the Dingleanons would be encouraged,motivated and would work for a progressive Dingle.
October fest is the first ever festival which is celebrated by Dingleanons.
It was named Pagdihon to instill to the youths the importance of our culture and heritage as Dingleanons.Since this is the first ever festival, youths plays the most important role in the whole-week activity. It is not only to be in the spotlight on stage but for them to learn how important the fest is. It reflects our culture and heritage and to remember the heroism done by General Adriano Hernandez, who fought for our independence during the Spanish regime,which most of the youths did not know.
